Non-equilibrium DYNAMICS OF CORRELATED ELECTRON SYSTEMS:
latest theoretical and experimental advances
Scope
One of the outstanding contemporary challenges in condensed matter physics is to understand the dynamics of interacting quantum systems exposed to an external perturbation. Following recent theoretical advances in the research of non-equilibrium dynamics of correlated electron systems stimulated by rapid progress in time-resolved ultrafast experimental studies of superconductors and related correlated materials, we organize a short and focused 3-day meeting.
Special attention will be given to fundamental problems of fast relaxation of photo excited carriers in correlated materials, thermalization after a quench in closed quantum systems, and collective phenomena in correlated systems far from equilibrium.
Arrival Information
Krvavec ski area is located 20 minutes drive from the airport and 30 minutes from downtown Ljubljana. The access to the ski area and the hotel Raj is via a cable car. Since the operation of the cable car depends on snow conditions that are rather unpredictable around the time of the conference, we strongly suggest all participants to arrive to Ljubljana on Tuesday, 17th of December, and stay over night in the hotel in Ljubljana.
We can help you with the booking. We will then organize transport from Ljubljana to Krvavec early Wednesday morning.

VENUE
The venue is at Hotel Raj at Ambrož.

Additional information
While the Krvavec ski area allows for a variety of winter recreational activities, there is no guarantee that snow conditions through the period of the conference will be favorable for skiing, snowboarding, etc.. The ski area has snow making facilities, however, those are operational only under favorable weather conditions (in particular low enough temperatures during the night). In any case, all participants are encouraged to come equipped with warm clothing and winter or even better hiking shoes. In case there is no skiing, we will organize short hikes. There is as well a ski-rental facility not far from the hotel. A few days before the conference we will send you the current weather and snow conditions update which can also be found on http://www.rtc-krvavec.si/en/winter/ski-resort/.
